The SFSP is the single largest Federal resource available for local sponsors who want to combine a feeding program with a summer activity program. Siria Rocha, Director of Marketing, said “with high gas prices, high cost of food and the extra burden that families are dealing with now that children are out of school, the West Texas Food Bank through its partnerships with Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs, City Parks & Recs, and Houchen Community Center provides a FREE nutritious meal during the summer for children under the age of 18.” There are no income requirements and in addition to receiving a free lunch children will also have the opportunity to learn about healthy eating through fun activities.
