City Hall Proclamation Presentation - El Paso
City Council and Mayor will present the Sun Bowl Association, FirstLight Federal Credit Union, and West Texas Food Bank with a proclamation proclaiming "Fight Against Hunger"
WHEREAS: The City of El Paso recognizes initiatives such as the FirstLight Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Thanksgiving Parade Food Drive for the benefit of the City of El Paso that it sends a message of support to those in need and raises awareness on the issue of hunger; AND
WHEREAS: the proceeds of the food drive will be distributed by the West Texas Food Bank and their network of agencies to provide food to those in need this holiday season, AND
WHEREAS: FirstLight Federal Credit Union, Sun Bowl Association, and the West Texas Food Bank thank the citizens of El Paso for participating in this worthy cause and encourage everyone to become involved and by doing so, build a better community, AND
WHEREAS: The Mayor and City Council recognize that hunger continues to be a very serious problem that impacts thousands of men, women and the most vulnerable, children in our community, and call upon El Pasoans to help in the fight against hunger by taking their canned goods on Thanksgiving Day to the FirstLight Federal Credit Union Sun Bowl Parade.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Mayor and Council of the City of El Paso, that the month of November, shall be known as:
